Pet Sheep Keeping Course  

 

The course is designed to give you everything you need to confidently care for pet sheep, whether you're just getting started or already begun your sheepy journey. It’s a friendly, relaxed and practical day with plenty of time to ask questions and spend time with the sheep.

 

The day includes:

 

• Getting started

• Legal requirements

• Weight management

• Foot care

• Feeding

• Vitamins and minerals

• Routine medications

• Supplements & alternatives

• Understanding parasites and how to control them

• Injection training

• When to call the vet

• Recognising and managing illness

• Sheep-keeping toolbox

• Time with the sheep and lambs

You will leave with a sheep care manual.

 

Course also includes welcome tea and sweet treats and a delicious, colourful, nourishing lunch

Having lambs with your pet sheep

​

​

This course is designed for those who wish to have lambs with their pets sheep.  It's aim is to give your confidence for your first lambing and help support you from preparation, tupping, pregnancy, delivery and right through to weaning your lambs.

Breeding options

Supporting the pregnancy

Lambing preparation/kit

Recognising signs of labour

The delivery process

Mispresentations and how to manage them

What to do after delivery
